The Graduate Certificate in Theological Studies course is designed for those who hold a tertiary qualification in a non-theological discipline, who wish to pursue a graduate qualification in theology. Students will be able to critically engage Christian thought and traditions, enhance their professional work, and give expression to insights for Christian living.

The Graduate Certificate in Theological Studies focuses on introducing students to the discipline of Biblical Studies and the subdiscipline of Systematic Theology, equipping them with foundational knowledge for further study in these two areas.

The four units include:

  • One foundational unit in Systematic Theology
  • One foundational unit in Biblical Studies
  • Two elective units

Articulation to Other Awards

The Graduate Certificate is a stand-alone award; however, it can also qualify students for the Graduate Diploma of Theological Studies (AQF 8) or Master of Theological Studies (AQF 9), should they wish to further their studies.

Thus, the Graduate Certificate articulates directly into either the Graduate Diploma of Theological Studies or Master of Theological Studies. Upon completion of either of these further awards, the student is required to surrender their Graduate Certificate in Theological Studies.
